IMPERIAL Logistics International donates EUR 15,000

15.12.2016 – Duisburg. Terminally sick, homeless or overstretched by caring for their own seriously ill children – the year that is drawing to a close has not been positive for everybody.

Fortunately, there are a large number of organisations, which help the sick and those who are not so well-off. IMPERIAL Logistics International has once again transferred a donation totalling EUR 15,000 to three of these kinds of centres.

“We appreciate the work of the charitable organisations that we’re supporting and we know that they alleviate extremely tough situations that anybody can suddenly and inadvertently face,” says Dr. Rembert Horstmann, Marketing Manager at IMPERIAL Logistics International. He handed over a cheque with a donation of EUR 5,000 to the St. Raphael Children’s and Young People’s Hospice in Duisburg on 12 December. The money will help finance courses and training events for voluntary helpers and the pool vehicles used to care for young patients, who have not been admitted as in-patients.

Anke Bestmann, Managing Director of IMPERIAL Gas Barging GmbH at the Hamburg business location, also handed over EUR 5,000 to the social welfare centre there. It runs the midnight bus, which takes hot drinks, blankets and clothing to the places where the homeless sleep every night. 140 voluntary helpers keep the midnight bus running in Hamburg.

The ASB – Arbeiter Samariter Bund (Worker’s Samaritan Federation) in Mannheim received a visit from Björn Liedtke, the branch manager there. He also handed over EUR 5,000, which will benefit the “last wishes vehicle”. The ASB uses this vehicle, which has been refitted to transport sick people, to fulfil the last wishes of seriously ill people – for example, so that they can enjoy an outing to the seaside or attend a football game of their favourite club once again.
